LCPS Technology Plan
LCPS Instructional Technology Vision Statement
Virginia Standards of Learning for Technology
In Loudoun County Schools, technology is an integrated skill and activity. Unlike "special" content areas such as music, physical education, and art, computer activities are integrated with other content areas rather than function as a stand-alone discipline. Individual teachers are responsible for content integration and technology rich lessons. The Technology Resource Teacher and Technology Assistant are available to assist teachers with lesson research, planning and delivery.
Mr. Everhart, the TRT, make weekly visits to the 2-5th grade classrooms to teach content lessons that are rich in technology. Please contact Mr. Everhart with your questions about technology at Sully Elementary School.

More Information:
I have a Masters of Science degree (2000) in Instructional Technology and Telecommunications from Western Illinois University. As a graduate student I took course work in instructional design and in Web-based delivery of instruction. Several of my courses were taught "On-line". My master's thesis was a formal evaluation of the courseware "Discover English". In 90's I developed an on-line learning environment for my social studies students, and wrote grants to purchase computers and software for my students.
I took course work at Augsburg College (1988) in Minneapolis, MN to get my elementary education teaching credentials. Augsburg was a good place for me to study education. My professors were ahead of their time in using instructional technology and incorporating instructional design and brain research into elementary education.
I graduated from the University of Minnesota (1982) with a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in geography.
So what is Geography?
Geography is the science of place and space.
Geography takes a holistic view of the planet and places on it: it's about putting knowledge together, rather than taking it apart. It focuses on the relationships between people, their places and their environments.
