MMC Homework Guide

Week of May 6, 2013

The Virginia Standards of Learning testing begins next week.  So that you feel prepared, here is a schedule to assist  with review of materials at home using either the SOL binders or Study Island.

Tuesday, May 14^th-  3^rd grade Math SOL  8:15 a.m.

Wednesday, May 15^th-  3^rd grade Reading SOL  8:15 a.m.

Friday, May 17^th-   3^rd grade Science SOL 8:15 a.m.

Monday, May 20^th-  4^th grade Virginia Studies SOL 8:15 a.m.

Tuesday, May 21^st-  4^th grade Reading SOL 8:15 a.m.

Thursday, May 23^rd- 3^rd grade Social Studies SOL 8:15 a.m.

Tuesday, May 28^th-  4^th grade Math SOL 8:15 a.m.

       Once you have completed the section, you can use the printed checklist to mark off what you have covered successfully.  This will encourage you to stray away from concepts that are easy and move onto more challenging material. Once you have covered all areas, have your parents sign that you have completed all review areas and return it to school for class cash.

  SOL BINDERS

     Please remember to continue to review the material in these binders.  Some people have been telling me what areas they are having trouble with, so that I may help them.  Please take advantage of this great resource to review the material.

Homework:  We have no other assigned homework this week to allow plenty of time to prepare for the state testing.  Please use this time to review and study using Study Island or your SOL Binder. This will help you avoid test anxiety and insure that you will do your very best.  Another great source to practice is the website, Jefferson Lab.  Here is the address:  http://education.jlab.org/solquiz/  And yet another great resource to use is SOLPass.org.  The address is:http://www.solpass.org/elementary.html  If you need to sign in, the password is “cardinals”.  Regular homework assignments will resume on May 28^th.

Another Important Date:

Tomorrow, May 7^th is our trip to Imagination Stage.  If you are a chaperone, please be here by 8:20 a.m.  The bus will leave promptly at 8:30.  Please bring a packed lunch.

Students…remember to dress appropriately for the theater.  We’re representing our terrific school. J
