8TH GRADE PARENTS AND STUDENTS
 
If you're interested in attending the 8th grade Lifetime Fitness Party on June 1st, please fill out the 3 flyers that are attached above.  All 8th grade students from ERMS are invited and chaperones are also needed.  It has always been a fun event and last year we had over 350 students attend.  We hope to see you there! You can also find the forms on the front of the ERMS website or see the House Office for the forms.  All three forms must be filled out and turned in by May 13th.  Parents, if you're interested in chaperoning, please let Donna Colombo or Mr. Salgado know.  dkcolombo@comcast.net or tony.salgado@lcps.org.

A New Home for Gently Used Puzzles 
 
We have had a request from the librarians at school.  During the student's visits to the library, they often work on puzzles.  While the library has some, they can always use more.  If you have some puzzles at home that would be appropriate for students, please drop them by the library/office.   Some organizations won't take puzzles as donations because there might be a piece missing, but ERMS would like to provide a place for some puzzles to be used by our students.  Thanks so much and we look forward to seeing what you might have sitting in those cabinets at home! 
 
 
 
EAGLES NEST (School Store) 
 
We have joined in a "partnership" with the student leadership team at Eagle to run the Eagles Nest on Friday mornings. There will be an adult on site, but students from the leadership team will open, run, close, and organize the Eagles Nest starting this Friday, March 1st. The times will be 8:15 to appx. 8:40 (when the last bell rings for classes to begin).  The store is located in the front hallway near the  8th grade house.  It's basically school supplies and a limited amount of spirit wear.  We will have it open on Fridays only and if your student isn't a member of the student leadership team but would still like to volunteer, please have him/her contact the PTA or the Student leadership team/Sponsor, Mr. Matt Brown matthew.brown@lcps.org.  We believe that not only will this be a benefit to the students stopping by the store, but a benefit to the students providing guidance/leadership on Fridays and throughout the process of opening the store, ordering inventory, and working with the PTA and Administration.

As the PTA keeps up with communication trends, there will be few flyers that come home and more communication through e-mails, newsletter, website and facebook.  If you're a FB user, please "Like" us and you will receive updates and information throughout the year.  If you like to receive information via a newsletter or electronic notifications, please read the letter/form that came home in your child's backpack yesterday.  It is at the bottom of the membership form.  
 
We hope that you will become a PTA Member and support the work that the PTA does at your child's Middle School. It's a great first step investment into the support system that is available at school for ALL students, ALL staff, and ALL families.  If you didn't see the form, please go to the website under family and PTA and you will be able to see the most updated forms and information.

 The goal of the PTA is to support the ERMS students, staff and families of the school and unite in efforts to secure the best education for our students.
