MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the SBHS library media center is to ensure student and staff access, both physical and intellectual, to information resources in a variety of formats; to provide opportunities to attain and master the information literacy skills necessary for effective utilization of these resources; and to promote reading and lifelong learning.
VISITING THE LIBRARY
Students may visit the library before and after school without a pass.
Visits during the school day require passes as follows:
Study Hall: Students should request a pass from the study hall teacher.
Lunch: Students may come to the library at the beginning of their lunch period or after eating in the cafeteria. Passes are required. Students should request passes in the library at any time of day prior to the start of lunches. Students visiting during lunch must stay in the library until the end of their lunch period.
CIRCULATION POLICY
Books including audiobooks may be checked out for two weeks or renewed for longer periods. Magazines are checked out for one week. Reference books may be checked out overnight upon request. There are no fines charged for overdue materials; however, there is a charge for lost materials.
