Whether through my accent or the Yankee gear in my office, you have probably already figured out that I started life up in New York. I grew up in a town called Lake Ronkonkoma, right in the middle of Long Island.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree in psychology from James Madison University and from there worked as a counselor in Maryland. My job there was very rewarding as I helped at-risk teens and young adults transition from previously bad living situations to better ones and eventually helped them get to a point where they could live on their own.  Later, I went on to become a full time tutor working with children K-12 and beyond while I worked on my Master’s degree.  In 2008 I completed my Masters of Education in counseling and in 2009 was hired first as a substitute, then as a full time counselor here at Emerick.

In my spare time you can find me going to concerts, listening to music, or drumming along to hits of the 80’s in my house. If not, then I most likely am at the movies or enjoying the many culinary establishments that Virginia has to offer.
