ROMANA HARTMETZ

Ms. Romana Hartmetz has been teaching music since 1989. She received the Bachelor of Music degree from The University of North Texas in Denton, Texas and the Master of Music degree from the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri in Kansas City. Ms. Hartmetz is a founding member of the NAfME/GAMA/NAMM Guitar Education Team and has published arrangements and compositions for guitar ensemble through Class Guitar Resources, Tallahassee, FL. She is the recipient of the 2009 MENC Music Teacher of the Year Award for Guitar Education. She currently directs the Advanced Guitar and Intermediate Orchestra Programs at Woodgrove High School in Purcellville, VA and the Orchestra Program and beginning guitar at Tuscarora High School, Leesburg, VA

SCEDULE OF EVENTS FOR APRIL 27 - JUNE 4

All classes will be working to increase their technique and sight reading skills and well as working on an in-class composition/songwriting project.

All Orchestra students going to Busch Gardens will have mandatory after school rehearsal in MUS 2 on Thursdays May 5th, 12th, 19th 26th and June 2nd. Rehearsal will last until 4:40 p.m.

All Guitar Students going to Busch Gardens will have mandatory after school rehearsal in MUS 2 on Tuesdays May 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st.

The Busch Gardens trip will be on Saturday June 4th, detailed info is on the band web-site or on the form that was sent home with the students.
