Welcome to the fourth grade at Tolbert Elementary! My name is Mrs. Amy Cornell and I am looking forward to a very productive and exciting year in our classroom. I am thrilled to be at Tolbert for my tenth year of teaching. I previously taught 3^rd and 4^th grades in Alexandria City Public Schools, 3^rd grade at the International School of Genoa in Italy, and 3^rd grade in Mercedes, Texas, which is located on the Texas-Mexico border. I received a B.A. in Economics from Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia and a Masters in Elementary Education from the University of Texas Pan American.

I live here in Leesburg with my husband, who is also a 4th grade teacher. Outside of school I love to read, try out new recipes in the kitchen, run, and go hiking. Traveling and exploring new places & cultures is also a passion for me.
